Must-try items at Aldi.
Have you ever been to Aldi’s? Are they in your area yet? Whether you’ve been before or not, make sure to check out this list with some of my favorite snacks at Aldi’s.
If you are not shopping at Aldi yet, you have to try it out! I was born and raised in The Netherlands, and I used to go to Aldi since I was very young. Groceries are often much cheaper than other grocery competitors. Not everything is cheaper, but for some reason, you can leave the store with a much fuller cart for $100 than any other store. Next time you check it out, make sure you throw these items in your cart to try out! You will not regret it.
Cajun Crab Dip
The first thing I want to share is this cajun crab dip. It is a little spicy, but oh so yummy. I like eating them with pita crackers or pita chips. This is a definite must-try for your next time. If you are a night-time snacker like me, this will definitely be a huge hit.
Cuban Sandwich Chips
The next one that made it to my list is these Cuban Sandwich flavored kettle chips. These REALLY taste like Cuban sandwiches. Though I have to admit, I am a true potato chips addict, these are just simply delicious. Give these a try next time, if you are looking for a change!
Gouda deli sliced cheese
As a born and raised Dutchie; cheese is a huge staple in our households. We eat it during breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. We take huge pride in our cheeses. Gouda cheese comes from the city Gouda in The Netherlands. Ever since I moved to the United States, American cheeses have disappointed me (please take no offense). But this is as close as it gets, especially for the price you pay. I have had imported Dutch cheeses from stores like Whole Foods, but I didn’t like that I had to pay $15 for a small portion that will last me one day. This is affordable and as good as it gets. Try this sliced cheese next time!
Quinoa chips – sea salt
A healthier alternative is these quinoa chips. I like them because they are the perfect snack for my son. My son has major allergies, and most often he will break out from regular potato chips. Though these are not vegan, they are gluten-free and non-GMO, which is a huge plus in my opinion already. They go very well with dips like hummus.
This is another one of those things that remind me from back home. I remember the commercials on TV about Merci chocolate in The Netherlands. They are a great gift on any holiday. They are filled with little bars of chocolate and all different flavors. So they made sure there’s a chocolate flavor in there for everyone. They are often gifted on Valentine’s Day or a birthday. They are quite affordable and make an impression. Of course, you don’t have to wait until the next occasion to gift these, I recommend you try them out on your next visit to Aldi.
Street corn dip
I think by now, you are able to tell that I am a big fan of chips and dips. Yes, it’s true, I love to dip my chips in various kinds of dips. I will try them all! On my latest trip to Aldi, I picked up this street corn dip for the first time, and I absolutely loved it! I highly recommend it. You can eat this with chips or, like I did, with pita crackers. Try them out and let me know what you think!
