Description

Arepas is a breakfast item that is made with pre-cooked cornmeal. It is often prepared in Colombian and Venezuelan cuisine. You can eat these plain or add cheese or eggs on top. They are absolutely delicious and very easy to make!.

  1. Mix the ingredients in a medium-size bowl and mix well until you can form a ball.
  2. Divide the dough into 4 even balls.
  3. Dip the ball in cold water, so it doesn’t stick, and place it on plastic wrap. Fold the plastic wrap over the ball and press down with a plate. Make them as thick or thin as you like. Repeat this with each ball of dough.
  4. In a pan warm up a little bit of oil and fry each arepa for about 2-4 minutes on each side, or until the edges start to brown a little bit.
  5. Enjoy!
